Talip Ozturk, Founder, CEO
Talip Ozturk is the founder of Hazelcast. He has been working with enterprise Java since 1999. He worked as a consultant at MIC (Virginia), developer at a start-up company, Syncline (Boston) and sales architect at Itochu Technologies (New York). In 2003, he got fascinated by Jini and developed an implementation of JavaSpaces. In 2008, his passion for distributed programming led him to develop Hazelcast. Before Hazelcast, Talip was the director of technology at Zaman Media Group (Istanbul). In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer.
Fuad Malikov, Founder, VP of Customer Success
Prior to joining Hazelcast, Fuad worked on J2EE projects as a technology consultant in financial and telecom industries. He was an IT architect at IBM, developing J2EE based core-banking system for one of the biggest banking transformation projects in Europe. Prior to IBM, Fuad worked on various telecom companies developing J2EE and Oracle PL/SQL applications. He has attended several Mathematics Olympiad Competitions. He won three gold medals at national Maths Olympiads and a bronze medal at 42nd International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), USA. Fuad holds a BS degree in Computer Engineering from Bogazici University, Istanbul.
Eric Reuthe, Business Development and Consulting
Prior to joining Hazelcast, Eric was the Vice President of Product Engineering and Chief Architect at edō Interactive in Nashville, TN, a market leading platform provider to financial institutions and merchant advertisers. He has over 10 years of experience in CTO and CIO roles in business and financial services and consulting to Fortune 1000 companies. Before falling in love with the software engineering and information technology world, Eric worked in technical marketing for a number of medical device and biotech companies. He is a graduate of Brown University with a degree in Philosophy and studied Applied Computer Science at Harvard University Extension.
Mehmet Dogan, Architect
Before joining Hazelcast, Mehmet was senior software developer at Zaman Media Group. Since 2005 he has been working with Java. Mehmet worked on several J2EE projects and participated in the development of ERP, CRM and CMS applications. Also he developed Single Sign-On and Virtual-POS Client systems. He ranked 40th (out of over million people) in national university entrance exam in 2001. Mehmet holds a BS degree in Electronics Engineering from Fatih University. He has been a committer of Hazelcast since 2009.
Enes Akar, Developer
Enes has worked for as a Software Developer in telecom companies like Alcatel-Lucent and Ericsson. With his entrepreneurial spirit, he is the founder of Android development groups; Androturk and Andronom. Enes is a chess master with degrees on tournaments. He has joined Hazelcast as he believes distributed computing should be "deadly simple" just like Hazelcast fights for. Enes holds a BS degree in Computer Engineering and MBA degree from Bogazici University, Istanbul.
Ali Gürbüz, Developer
Ali leads the development of Hazelcast Queue, Multimap and Collections. He also participates in the design of other data structures and services in Hazelcast. Prior to joining Hazelcast, Ali was Project Leader at MRD where he led the design and development of Single Sign-On and Cloud File System projects at TTNET and Turk Telekom. As a senior software developer at Zaman Media Group, he worked on several J2EE projects and participated in development of Editorial System. Ali ranked 42th (out of over million people) in national university entrance exam in 2001. He hold s a BS degree in Electronics Engineering from Fatih University, Istanbul.
Mustafa Sancar Koyunlu, Developer
Sancar leads the design and development of Hazelcast Serialization, C++ client, Management Center and Hazelcast Topic. Before joining to Hazelcast crew as a full-time developer, Sancar did internship at TUBITAK and Hazelcast. Sancar holds a BS degree in Computer Engineering from Bogazici University, Istanbul. When he is not coding, he enjoys playing video games and table tennis.
Asım Arslan, Senior Software Engineer
Prior to joining Hazelcast, Asım designed and developed various enterprise projects for businesses such as medical management, ticketing and aviation. He led a high volume ticket sales project for Ticketmaster Turkey which still in use and handles 90% ticket sales volume of the country. He has been the lead developer of an open source project BatooJPA which is the fastest JPA 2 implementation and 10 ~ 20 times faster than the leading JPA providers. Asım holds a BS degree in Electronics Engineering and BS degree in Physics from Middle East Technical University.
Emin Demirci, Developer
Emin leads development and design of the Management Center at Hazelcast. Before joining to Hazelcast, Emin did internship at PGS Software and Hazelcast. He holds a BSc. degree in Computer Engineering from Karadeniz Technical University, Trabzon. He enjoys playing football (also proud to be fan of Galatasaray), cycling and amateur photography.
Paul Salazar, VP of Sales and Operations
Paul Salazar is Vice President of Sales and Operations at Hazelcast. Paul has worked in high tech for over 25 years, as an engineer, product manager, marketing and sales executive, and general manager. He has worked at several open source software companies including Red Hat, Cygnus Solutions and OTRS, and in executive roles at Greenplum (now EMC) and Skytree. Paul attended Stanford University and has Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is an avid amateur astronomer.
Miko Matsumura, VP of Marketing
Miko Matsumura is a 20 year veteran of Silicon Valley. Most recently he served as SVP of Platform Marketing and Developer Relations at Kii Corporation. He served as a CTO for Software AG and a VP at webMethods, which acquired his startup company INFRAVO for $38M. He got his start in Silicon Valley working as the original Chief Java Evangelist for Sun Microsystems during the first dot com wave. He is a Limited Partner at Focus Ventures, which manages over a half a billion dollars. He holds an MBA from SFSU as well a Master's degree in Neuroscience from Yale University.
